to the artists, designers and craftspeople who think I call their work kitsch... this is NOT the case, it refers to my own work

dot dot dot

A visit to the Musée du Quai Branly in Paris is a breathtaking experience.  Gorgeous space with outstanding collections of ethnic art.

A few details of Aboriginal Art, I simply love the earthy warm colours and the 'simplicity' of the painting technique.

Truc Troc - the post-it notes art fair

The 8th edition of the exchange Fair Truc Troc starts tonight.
Dozens of artists exhibit works at the BOZAR in Brussels and visitors can make offers (no money) to acquire them.
A fun event to attend in a very laid back atmosphere, especially at the end when reading the exchange offers is quite entertaining.
Some snapshots from past editions...

not sure but I seem to remember this is Delphine Boel

Sachi Miyachi - playing with sticks

Sachi Miyachi (JN) - The Gate - 2010

the 'nonchalance' of the location - Verbeke Foundation - adds a certain charm, quite the opposite from the usual stark, clean exhibition spaces

weeds in the greenhouses are invading the space and installations

the structure reminds me of the ones that were standing in the playground when I was a child

and it reminds me of this...

François Schuiten - La Fièvre d'Urbicande - Les Cités obscures - Editions Casterman - 1985

not quite able to explore the structure from all sides...

there is a fotoshoot going on.

La Maison au Courant - à CIEL oUVERT

The grey winter days without colour do have a certain charm.  Looking back at these pictures taken in September 2011 I feel the urge of getting started with new projects and feel the energy that bright colours and bold patterns give me.

I'd love a space where I could do something like this

two tiny rooms are altered so that quite a number of people can sit together

altered bathtubs are turned into sofas

funky atmosphere that brings a smile on my face

a view towards the kitchen that can be closed by tilting the tabletop

inspiring...
